Hype fucking

The act from a third party of interfering and/or ruining the final expression of hype and enjoyment in regards to a product release, service release or activity in an incompetent or malicious way while it would've been a success otherwise.

Person 1: "OMG, these scalpers totally hype fucked the release of the new line-up of GPUs!"
Person 2: "Ikr! These people are proper asshats."

Person 1: "A Youtuber I used to follow decided it was ok to spread misinformation about new game releases for clicks..."
Person 2: "Seems some people really love hype fucking these releases with their channels while getting rich in the process. Wow."

Person 1: "Hiya! You finally downloaded the game we were going to play together, right?! Wanna play right now?"
Person 2: "No I need to finish something else first and I'll be really busy upcoming days. One guy I've been doing a group project with didn't do his part of the job properly so now I need go ahead and do it. I'm really sorry."
Person 1: "Wow really? I've been so looking forward to playing together. What a hype fuck!"

Hyoer

A category of internet users, as well as characters for the Phighting fandom. These users role-play as versions of the Phighting character "Hyperlazer", each one of them originating from inside his mind. The misspelling of the word "hyper" is something that these users tend to paste all over their posts and profiles. The most prolific community of these Hyoers is on X, in which there are over 50 active Hyoer accounts. These accounts are riddled with lore and secrets, so taking a good look at them is encouraged!

Hype Hating

A type of "mob mentality" wherein a large group of people have an unfounded dislike of something (Person, Place, Show, Movie, etc.) That they themselves have not actually consumed for the sole reason that it is the trendy opinion of that specific something. This phenomina is primarily seen on social media.

You've never even seen The Sopranos and you're dumping on it? That's some clown Hype Hating stuff right there.

A popular and/or exciting trend. The only reason most people are excited about it is because of the peer-pressure or crowd mentality. Often used on streaming platforms as an on-the-nose way to pressure people into donating to a streamer.

People went crazy when Taylor Swift came to town, but most of them were just getting on the hype train.

A hypelord has a Goth / Zumiez style along with multiple piercings, usually people who spend most of their time on Dead by Daylight or DayZ.

Hypelords spend their time yearning for online attention (clout).

Tommy: "Have you seen Meredy? Why has he suddenly started smoking so much weed and starting problems with people?"

Mia: "Yeah, he's such a pussy, almost like a hypelord."
