A person who is born and raised in the US but whos ancestors(parents,grandparents or great-grand parents)were born in Mexico.He/she may speak spanish and english though most Chicanos speak english only.Many first-generation(people born and raised in the US during the 40's & 50's) Chicanos as well their children speak a dialect of spanish called Calo rather than traditional Spanish.Chicanos during the 1940's created a culture based on their parents Mexican culture and their own American culture. Many Chicanos have been instrumental in changing Mainstream american culture in terms of Art,Music and language.

Freddie Prinze was the first mainstream Latino Star ..yeah too bad he wasn't Chicano.

The finest, most delicious and awesome Pizza ever to come out of an oven. Chicago-style pizza is a deep-dish pizza style developed in Chicago by the first Italian immigrants (other things developed by the same people were the mafia and the wifebeater). True Chicago-style pizza features a buttery crust (which can only be made here cuz of the water), ample amounts of cheese and chunky tomato sauce. The top producers of this pizza are:

Some people might say that they like NY stlye Pizza better. But only to know for yourself is to actually go both places and eat pizza there. Going to the "chicago-style" and "New-York-Style" pizzerias in your lil bumkin town and comparing the 2 doesn't actually count.

(Chicago also has many pizzerias serving thin-crust pizzas for some of you pussies who can't handle the truth, some of which are in a style unique to the Windy City, but as a term Chicago-style pizza generally refers to deep-dish styles.

Chicago

A city in the state of Illinois. It is the largest city in Illinois, the largest in the Midwest, and the third largest in the United States. A very impressive skyline, and home to many fortune 500 companies. Although parts of the city are impoverished, what city DOESN'T have places like that? The most expensive inland city in the US. Upscale areas by far dominate the low scale areas. One of the best cities in the country, and in the world. Extremely diverse, although many people believe Chicago is segregated still because of it's past. If you haven't been there before, please stfu like you actually know something.

Chicago has something for everyone.

Chicano, Chicana

Chicano/a is a state of mind. Yes one must be Mexican American to be a Chicano, but not necessarily an anti-social or left wing militant.

Remember the key part of being a Chicano is that we are Mexican American. Chicanos pride ourselves on our education, Famila, art, warrior qualities and our love for God.
