A price that is WAY too high. Mostly in situations where you are forced by a third party to buy or use services from a specific person or group even though there are other, cheaper options. It is even worse than highway robbery. This is one of the few legal forms of extortion.

It is highway rape when the required senior portrait company asks for $500 dollars more than any other company with the same services.

It is highway rape when your insurance company only allows you to go to a certain doctor even though they are WAY more expensive than any other doctor in the area.
