While approaching a green traffic light when driving, it's the point you make a mental note of, X feet before the intersection, where you're going through light even if it turns to yellow. A feeling of relaxation often accompanies passing the event horizon of a traffic light, in particular when in a rush or for known long red lights.

I thought for sure we were already passed the traffic light event horizon, but Becky slammed on the breaks when the light turned yellow and my blue coconut slush fell and spilled all over the floormat or her Hyundai Elantra.
