Defensive Dialing

The act of pulling out your cell phone after seeing someone you know but want to avoid conversing with them. The hope is that they see that you are busy on your phone, so they decide they shouldn't approach you. This must be done before the person notices that you in fact, saw them first.

I saw my old neighbor outside while I was checking the mail today. I pulled out my cell phone and started defensive dialing so that I wouldn't have to get stuck talking to him for the next 10 minutes.

Butt dial

Butt dial is when you mistakenly call someone. This normally happens when your phone is in your back pocket and you sit down and the phone app calls someone for you. They end up answering and getting annoyed because you called them and now your not answering while they are trying to talk to you. Not to be confused with a booty call.

Donna: *sits down*
Jacob: David, my boi, your phones ringing.
David: Ah shit man it's Donna you know I've liked her for a while
Jacob: Answer it dumb fuck
David: Okay Okay. Donna, hey why are you calling?
Donna: *Sits unaware that she accidentally called someone*

Akin to the infamous drunk dial, a call (or text) made while under the influence of MDMA, or Molly. Characteristics include heart-felt speeches, laughing, and excessive use of the words "happy", "love", and "amazing."

"Have you talked to Adam today?"
"No, but Amanda said he rolling dialed her last night and kept saying she was amazing."
"Yea, he was rolling his face off."
