The Universal Law of the Lost Remote

The law of physics (not really) that pertains to the difficulty of finding a lost TV remote, set of keys, etc. The only logical explanation is that the item has dropped into a black hole and the only way to bring it back to this realm is to stop looking for it. Once you've gone about your day, it practically falls back into your lap.

I was late to work today because I couldn't find my keys! My boss was okay with it, though. I told him it was The Universal Law of the Lost Remote.

lost in textlation

Literally, an SMS text message that is mistakenly interpreted by the recipient to mean something other then what the sender meant the message to convey. This is a common problem as the limitations of characters that fit into a standard SMS text message require the sender to abbreviate or otherwise cut out words making the message harder to understand, hence lost in textlation.

Any text can be misinterpreted as grammer is rarely used so even a simple text like:

A text that says "what are you doing?" could be interpreted by the recipient to mean what are they doing that very minute or it could be a critique from the sender asking the recipient what the hell they are doing, i.e. what's their problem. This rather simple example demonstrates lost in textlation.

When matters of relationships are discussed via text, that is where things can really become problematic.

Lost Puppy Syndrome

One who finds themselves only dating people who have issues that they feel like they could solve.

A person who is only attracted to people that have problems(drug addiction/abusive parents/ect.) and thinks they could protect and nurture them back to happiness.

Jenny has lost puppy syndrome, her last boyfriend was a recovering addict and now shes dating a guy that was raped by his own dad. She thinks she can change him, too bad the last one went back to drugs.
