Protest the Hero

An incredibly talented band from Whitby, Ontario, Canada.

And good fucking god, they are in no way emo. Modern emo is bland, unoriginal, whiny, commercialized shit. These guys deserve some fucking respect.

They are all incredibly talented at what they do. The guitarists can tap/shred at a very high level of playing standards, as well as being able to come up with some very catchy riffs.

The rhythm section comes up with some very intricate, unique ways to back up the songs, and the bassist can do more on his bass than most 'emo' guitarists can play on guitar. He also writes some very good lyrics.

The vocalist has a great range of singing and screaming as well as a great stage presence.

So to summarize: Kick ass band, nothing to do with emo

They don't even deserve a metalcore label because metalcore is again bland and uncreative. These guys play progressive/math metal.

Check out Fortress, the latest album from Protest the Hero. It is worth every pennie.

Battle of the Heroes

The song that played in Revenge of the Sith when Obi-Wan and Anakin fight on Mustafar. A lot like Duel of the Fates, except a lot more emotional.

Duel of the Fates and Battle of the Heroes are the best two songs from the Star Wars prequels.
While Duel of the Fates was appropriate for the duel against Darth Maul, who had no connection to Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan and Anakin were friends and John Williams and George Lucas decided they needed something more emotional than just another high intensity fight song. Also part of the soundtrack that, along with the lightsaber duels and action scenes, is what saved the prequels from being completely terrible.

Anti-Hero

An anti-hero is a flawed hero, and therfore, much more intresting then the more traditional heros. They can be working on the side of good, but with a tradic flaw, or a horrible past, or for reasons that are selfish and not intirely "pure". They can also be working for the side of evil, but with hidden noble intentions, or other underlying complexities. These darker heros can be jerks, pathetic, hard, jaded, or mean. However, all anti-heros must have enought heroic qualitys, intentions, or strenth (physical including attracktivness or mental) to somehow gain the sympathy of the audiance. Mostly they are intriguing and can therefore can be very, very, SEXY especialy if you love bad boys (girls). Well known anti-heros include Batman (yay Batman Begins), Angle, Draco Malfoy, and well...Napoleon Dynamite (sorry not a hot example).

Hero: I see the brave, shinning, world of tommorow!
Anti-hero: You must be delusional... And your cape's on backwards.
