Avatar

An amazingly well thought out and expensive movie. Throughout the $500 million dollar movie, there are 3D special effects that aren't comparable to any other movie ever made... ever. It is not uncommon to have a completely different outlook on ways humans interact with their surroundings after the movie is over.

"Dude, Avatar was siiick"

"Yeah dude, at one point in the movie, I looked over and my girlfriend was crying because she was so 'moved' by the movie."

Avatar Surgery

On websites such as turntable.fm, where users seek to gain points in order to upgrade their avatars and therefore their level of respect on the site, lower ranked users often experience anxiety related to being seen as uncool or as an inferior member of the community. As a result, they work hard to accumulate as many points as possible, in the shortest amount of time, so they can upgrade to a better avatar. Once they have attained the new status, they instantly revert to feeling anxiety until they can accumulate enough points to move further up the ladder and get avatar surgery again.

I've been stuck on 286 points all day...if I can get 14 more points I can finally get avatar surgery!

Avatard

A derogatory term used to describe adults who get into costume for fantasy films. Not necessarily exclusive to the movie Avatar.

I was passing the movie theater and saw a huge line for Star Wars 12 Space Schweinhund and there were a couple of Avatards in their mid thirties fighting with light sabres in the parking lot.
