Hype-Poisoning

Raising the expectations of a piece of media to such ridiculous levels that it is detrimental to the success of the game, movie or tv series to the point of extreme toxicity.

The term was first used by the Youtuber ''Mother's basement'' in the video: "Overhyped" Anime

The anime ''Chainsaw Man''suffered from hype-poisoning.
