Get the dancing mug. This form of dancing, if you can call it that, results from persons consuming too much alcohol, which somehow fuels their confidence in a non-existent ability to dance.
The drunken dance can be mistaken for someone going into convulsions or having an undiagnosed neurological disorder. It is often painful to watch, but the drunken dancers are convinced that they are performing on a professional level.

Benjamin Darling was a black man from Malaga Island off the coast of Maine in the middle to late 1700's. Malaga Island was home to decendants, also known was the 'maroon society' due to their black skin. In 1912, rich mainland-ers in the dead of night went to the island and took families from their home, killing most of them, while the survivers went back to the mainland as slaves. Between 1773 and 1774, Benjamin Darling, slave on a ship under comand of Captian Darling (no known relation, alothough it is speculated that Benjaming was his son from a slave he had an affair with in previous years), the ship got caught in bad seas and Benjamin saved the captians life pulling him a shore. The captian then gave Benjamin his freedom and some money to buy himself a home.

Get the Line Dancing mug.the collection of vintage dances from the 1920s-1940s including Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag, Charleston, Black Bottom, and vernacular jazz steps. preferably done to music from this era, including big band, swing, jazz, hot jazz, dixieland jazz, and charleston music. notable characteristics of swing dancing are: a lively and energetic dance, and aerials or air steps where the leader (guy) throws/tosses/flips the follower (girl) into the air in a variety of performance-y moves.
more modern forms of swing dancing have emerged in the past 20 years, specifically west coast swing, but these are very detached from the vintage styles of dances and music of authentic swing dancing, and usually done to modern club music and more resembles a type of ballroom or hustle dance.
please note: in swing dancing, there are no glittery vests and top hats.

Get the swing dancing mug.Hardcore dancing is performed at hardcore shows, to hardcore music. Or if so inclinded, just to hardcore music in your backyard.
It was first made in the early 80s when the genre of hardcore-punk developed from traditional punk. The hardcore punk scene started out with a lot of straigh-edge kids, who dedicated themselves to human rights. Those who who hardcore danced had no intention of injuring people or causing shit in the pit. They were merely expressing the deep respect they had for the band they were listening too, and showing their emotions through dancing. Most of these most involve what looks like flailing, it is more so a fighting. All of the moves have a meaning, and the fight moves represent fighting facists and those who supress the scene (such as people who have defined this word ignorantly, and negatively).
Others may perform moves to represent their humble attitude.
True hardcore kids can have a good time anytime, if a kid falls they will pick him up, if someone wants to start shit with them, they'll make a good effort to calm them down.
It is very unfortunate to see something degrade into such a steriotypically hated ignorance.
