Westside Mentality

The term Westside Mentality, or \\//\\//estside //\\//\\entality™, originated from and created by Blake Alexander, is a mentality or mindset of overcoming anything and pushing through all obstacles to accomplish your purpose and mission (in life). With Westside Mentality, you handle pressure well, and do not fold under pressure. You are focused on the eternal big picture, and you are not easily phased or beat; you have a determined and enduring mindset, which if truly accepted and taken to heart, leads to a life style. Honestly, this is all the way a real and true Christian should live, and is many of the characteristics for Christians described by Paul in the New Testament. Westside Mentality was most likely most recently famously lived out through the life and death of 2Pac Amaru Shakur, as he lived to die for his people and what he represented, and fearlessly and courageously faced death, head on every day until he finally died at 25, before he could get into politics and finish his revolution alive. This term and definition also has nothing to do with the stupid thing Ryan Gaybill wrote because he was/is insecure and jealous.

Blake's old great life got flipped turned, upside down, and taken away from him. His future looks like it's headed in a new direction, and he has a huge life mission and eternal purpose he must accomplish while alive on earth. He must accept, adopt, and develop Westside Mentality and also use that along with his never-ending, never-waverung faith, trust, and obedience to God to help him get through the crap that happens in life, and the everyday crap that occurs throughout life to accomplish his mission and fulfill his purpose-His eternal purpose.

Ghetto Mentality

1. The name of a rap group formed in 1988, gaining popularity and national underground radio play from 1994-1997 with intermittent resurgences garnering limited radio play as late as 2007. A few rap groups have used this moniker, but the first to use the name (and trademark it) were the aforementioned, originating in Salt Lake City in the infamous west side Glendale Gardens neighborhood. Members over the years consisted of Founder Smoove Daddy Cee (originally known as Tempo C) 1988-1997, RC Hype 1988-1990, DJ Shon D 1988-1989, Burt-Locz 1994-1996, L-Dogg 1995, Madd Dogg 1997. Popular songs included Blowin' Up, Git up, Glendale 2 Midvale, Murder Afta Midnight (Featuring Madd Dogg and Daizer), Playerz Mentality (Featuring Daizer and E-Bay) to name a few.

2. This has also been the name of several songs by various rap artists and is a somewhat common phrase in some rap songs.

3. One who possesses a mentality resultant from living in the ghetto. This is sometimes used derogatorily when community activist types pontificate on social ills.

Police Brutality

This is when police hurt an innocent person for no reason at all.

In December 17, 1997 two police officers killed a black motorist. The 31 year old Johnny Gammage died of compression to the neck or chest as the police officers pushed him face down on the pavement of the highway. The police did this for no reason at all. And of course they did this to him intentionally because this happened at night when no one else was around. Plus those officers walked off free. Yes if you didnt know the story that you just read is TRUE!
