A term given to someone who is not diagnosed with any mental illness, yet shows signs of very severe slow thinking.

Slow War

This is a war that is only visible when the big pattern is revealed over time. If you could play the seemingly-isolated events of a slow war in speeded-up time, its real nature would be visible

Sine the end of the 19th century, the U.S. has been conducting a slow war against Latin America. Sometimes the individual battles are heated and seem like a real war. At other times its an invasion here, a coup there, economic pressure by treaties, deals with authoritarian dictators, etc. Run it all together and see the big picture and its one big, long imperial adventure--a slow war.

slow death

Dying a slow death can refer to people who may be living a mundane or a life without productivity or purpose. Such as a person who does not participate in society and rather watches television nearly all day, everyday. This can also include people who for some reason my have complete social isolation.

I once spoke to an Australian Aboriginal elder about the alcohol crisis in indigenous communities. He said that most of the people who drink alcohol to excess do so as it gave them something to do and an escape. He said these people weren't living but were actually dying a slow death.
