gentros

A pejorative term for people who moved into your neighborhood. Their very presence makes your rent higher. And they call the police on the wrong people.

Those gentros just called the police on the day laborers who hang out on the corner! Those day laborers might get loud and a little drunk but if they didn't hang out there all day, the drug dealers and homeless would take that corner. Those fuck'n gentros should go back where they came from!

Gentriffy

Pronounced jen-triff-ee; Roughly interpreted as "anti-semitism based on forgetting that jesus was in fact also a jew" but tends to be mistaken for "I believe it is nearly time for dinner," which is only the correct interpretation on Saturdays after sundown.
Generally the first interpretation is seen when defending against anti-semitism in regard to the belief that the jews were responsible for the death of Christ.

"I dunno man, wasn't it the jews that killed jesus?"
"That is some pretty serious gentriffy, are you anti-semetic or something?"

A temporary halt to construction projects for richer people in poor neighborhoods. Good grassroots work can make a gentrivacation permanent, and has prevented many historical sites from facing the wrecker's ball.

Seems like the construction workers have taken a gentrivacation. The new building is past its "build by" date.
