these are certain characters in games such as fortnite they are either one of 2 things
1) A skin that you get when you first buy a game that does not look very good and does not get upgrades
2) People who have just started playing a new game. they prefer to go to populated places to learn but often die due to lack of knowledge .when playing with others they can be called this. The end of game defaults has slowly died down due to the skill gap or evolution(experience). They can often be found in bushes or hiding spots fearing for their lives. If they are spotted in the open they may attempt combat but ineffectively using a shotgun from over 50m. They will often be boxed in and trapped or shrugged off by their tags and shot down. Default poaching is very common due to the next type of default
The fake default is a person who is semi to very experienced but either decides to not use one of their other skins and chooses the default for easy W or for fun. The second is a skilled player who hasn't got enough money for skins as they used all of it on a different game. These are very annoying and often lead to lots of rage quits. This is why default poaching is common as people don't want to make a mistake assuming the default skin is a real default or a fake default.

A Default is when a team splits up into watch different angles and "Flanks" across the map. This is used in many popular FPS games, seen often in Valorant and CS:GO.
In maps like 'Split' on Valorant, you would likely want a 2-2-1 formation, 2 A, 2 mid, 1 B. This allows for many primary angles and flank routes on said map to be covered by the team.
The Act of defaulting especially helps with making sure your team doesn't send all 5 players into a site, then get flanked from 3 angles, then lose the fight.

On facebook, when you are tagged in a photo and it goes to the top of your wall. Then you make it your default picture. When the tagging notification is still at the top of your wall next to your thumbtag and your profile picture, you've got a default trio.
