Liberaltarian

A political philosophy that combines Liberalism and Libertarianism. Liberaltarians are usually left on fiscal issues, such as healthcare and tax policy, and libertarian on issues such as drug and prostitution legalisation. They often do not believe in some social liberal ideas such as affirmative action, smoking bans and hate crimes. They are usually anti war, as both liberalism and libertarianism are, and pro-same sex marriage. Liberaltarians exist in the USA as well as other countries.

Liberaltarianism proves that somebody can believe in personal responsibility and that the government can look after it's citizens. They believe strongly in the philosophy that people should be able to do anything they want as long it doesn't effect anybody who didn't voluntarily participate, and they also believe that the government can and should help it's citizens.

Lear Jet Liberal

A supposed enviornmental activist who it typical liberal hypocracy tells everyone else to ride their bike to cut down on pollution or to switch energy saving lightbulbs all the while they fly around in private jets and have houses with huge electric bills.

Al Gore proved himself to be a Lear Jet Liberal after his movie "An Inconvienent Truth" when it was discovered that he owns a private jet and his mansion in Tennessee uses as much energy in August alone as most other people do all year.

Resist Liberal

38-54 year old white urbanite Democrats. They hate Donald Trump and probably stan Obama and Kamala Harris. They make Cheeto jokes and call 45 the "former guy". The kind of person who finds Sarah Cooper funny. Though their political opinions may be sound, these types of Libs are second to no one in how annoying they are.

"Why on earth is he watching Stephen Colbert?"

"He's a resist liberal."

"I see. I hope he gets better soon."

Liberal party

Canadian political organization, previously known as the Reform party (in the 1870s). Governed Canada for all but thirty years of the twentieth century. Usually feels itself to be the 'natural governing party' of Canada: often corrupt, and becomes even more so when the opposition is fragmented. Recently almost self-destructed in the wake of a particularly well documented and obvious corruption scandal. Has always shown great talent for re-inventing itself when necessary, willing to contort itself into any position necessary to win votes (at least east of Winnipeg). Presently in rebuilding mode in the wake of the recent scandal.

The Liberal party usually wins based on seats in Eastern Canada -- It's rare for them to do very well in the west.

Liberaltarianism

This is not the philosophy that liberals follow, that is liberalism. This is Liberaltarianism. It is different.

They are usually anti war, as both liberalism and libertarianism are, and pro-same sex marriage. Liberaltarians exist in the USA as well as other countries.

People who follow liberaltarianism, liberaltarians, are sometimes called "not real libertarians" by libertarians. Liberaltarians never claim to be. They just claim to have some political beliefs that are taken out of libertarianism, and some that are taken out of liberalism.

liberal education requirement

A class required by the higher education system. It assists no one in the completion of any type of degree. The knowledge is forgotten once the class is complete and the money you spent on it is wasted because the class benifits no one at all.

College Student 1: "Hey man what liberal education requirement class are you taking?"

College Student 2: "I'm taking a chemistry lab because when I get my accounting degree I'll have to mix chemicals....a lot."

College Student 1: "I would rather just throw the money into my toilet and flush it down then take these ridiculous classes."

If used in a non-political sense, "liberal" simply means "a lot."
