The affluent would view their theatrical experiences from the boxes through opera glasses. The multi platfomed entertainment/media allows us to peer through into places denied us in prior times. So our ability to view life down the lense and how we view what we see in a certain respect can be viewed as seeing through or wearing soap opera glasses
