Trolls are people who want to get on your nerves. They will usually lurk around the forums and wait for an opportunity to annoy or attack a user. The best way to ignore a troll is not to flame back, but to report and move on. Trolls are no good and should be exiled.
Example of such trolls are Wintersfire, Vent etc.. If you come across these, but ignore and move on.
If you're new to Basil, wintersfire shouldn't be a problem. Vent is the real troll.

Get the forum troll mug.The word "forum" is derived from the Latin word "Fora". A large public meeting place. Similar in origin and function to other words used today when describing public speaking. "Community" and "Committee" originate from the Latin terms "Comitium" and "Comeo" and today's podium is referred to as a "Rostrum" from the original stone tribunal called the "Rostra". The people of ancient Rome would meet in the "Comitium" to listen to orators speak from the "Rostra". When the city grew larger the Roman Forum" was built to accommodate larger crowds.
Gaius Gracchus, a tibune of Rome is famous for turning his back on the Senate in the "Comitium" while speaking from the "Rostra" to face the common people gathered in the forum on the other side. From that point all orators spoke with their back to the Senate House.
Today the term "Forum" is defined as an online Internet message board section or "forum" where people leave posts with their opinion and comments. Each "forum" is separated into specific interests like, politics, news, pics etc.

Established in a 2003, the Dundee Bikers Forum is one of the most popular and active web-based discussion facilities for those on the Scottish East Coast interested in any aspect of motorcycling.
There are weekly runs through surrounding counties lasting a few hours whilst members also frequently organise trips that can be day or weekend-long.
A democratic, fair and thoughtful leadership may work for some organisations but not the DBF.
Ruled by an Admin with the people-skills of a chainsaw, the DBF management is aided by three Moderators:
* One who is rarely seen or heard.
* One who has never been seen or heard.
* One who gleefully mis-uses his authority at every opportunity.
With a current membership of around 2000 (allegedly) an a collective IQ of around 12, the DBF welcomes bikers of all ages, styles, genders and abilities. The discussion are wide-ranging - from the irreverant to the irrelevant by way of the incomprehensible BUT if you need a buddy for a run, technical assistance, hands-on help or some general biking advice, this is the place to come.
And if you're completely new to the world of biking, just leave your preconceptions at the door (along with your dignity) and come on in.
If you live anywhere near Dundee and you've got a bike, the DBF's for you.

Get the Dundee Bikers Forum mug.The heavy metal forum is found on sites such as VampireFreaks, Ultimate Guitar Tabs, GaiaOnline, and other social or music sites. You can expect many Metal Elitists and emo teenagers within these walls.
The emo kids start topics about Bullet For My Valentine or Slipknot and talk about other emo shitty bands. These kids are usually spat on and booted from the mods.
The Elitists tell those kids to fuck off and die. All while talking about their shitty underground black metal bands. Any bands they don't like are considered not metal. Any band with more than 10,000 fans are considered sell-outs and mainstream.
Fights always break out between the two sides, with the Emo usually throwing the "It's my Opinion" and "Freedom of Speech" arguments, and the elitist using the "No, it's a fact that (band) is SHIT" argument.

Typical Metal Forum Scenario
14-Year old in a Recommendation Thread: Check out these bands!
Job for a Cowboy
Bullet for my Valentine
Five Finger Death Punch
Elitist: I'd rather have cancer and AIDS simultaneously than to listen to that shit.
*shitstorm ensues*

Get the forum troll mug. It's usually used with a forum host, with a ridiculously long URL. Forums are used to post messages, but these days are used for support rather than entertainment. Moderators and Administrators usually moderate the forum and even use their ban hammers if necessary.
Forum administrators/moderators usually use their ban hammers too early in terms of infringing the law.
