Landsverk effect

The Landsverk effect, is when you are having a conversation with someone, and that person can only respond with relating your issues and stories through themselves.

They will not actually listen to try understand the emotions and situation you are going through. Instead they will use your words vaguely, as a catalyst, a launching pad, to tell their emotions and situation to you.

As a result, that person will always, somewhat unintended, make sure that the convensation, is gonne be almost exclusively be about them.

I wanted to tell her how i felt, but as soon as I started, she found a way to make it about her. The entire talk was under the Landsverk effect. It really sucked.

The Gogalex Effect

The phenomenon where certain individuals require far less words in a academic document to produce work of the highest quality. When one person who writes 700 words gets the same mark as someone who wrote 7000 words.

Guy 1: I wrote 7000 words and that other guy who wrote 700 got the same mark as me.

Guy 2: Dude that's just The Gogalex Effect.

1. When someone is talking about something so advanced you hardly understand 50% of it, but the subject is so interesting, you keep listening and encourage the speaker to continue talking.
2. When someone is smart and has interesting things to tell.

"Did you understand anything of what he said?"
"Not really"
"So why did you keep asking questions?"
"I don't know, the astronaut effect I guess"

Or

"Do you like that guy?"
"I don't know, he's sweet, works hard, but he's missing the astronaut effect ."
