A guy who thinks he is a tough guy, but is in fact fakin' like Clay Aiken. They even give the appearance of being a real tough guy by repeating tough guy verbiage that they learned from other fake tuffguys, but only other fake tuffguys buy into it. Anywhere but Tucson, they'd be somebody's bitch.

anyone who "dances" in the hardcore pit that can roundhouse at least one kid in the face, come up with a new move that integrates some type of "gangster" move, or wears camouflage pants. it's a spin-off from being scene or hardcore or metal. Also includes: size 2 plugs or below, nose ring, snake bites, black X's on hands, black sweater either by Metal Mulisha or supporting friend's band, in a hardcore band, a claim of having a pair of brass knuckles at home, military cap (preferably in camouflage print also), and is a member of the local StraightxEdge troop. One, many or all can apply for you to be considered "tuff". or xTUFFx.

Tuff Kid #1: Aw! Did you see those kids with their bangs and all that crap in their hair??
Tuff Kid #2: Yeah! And their tight girl pants!
Tuff Kid #1: Man! We should TOTALLY kick their ass!
Tuff Kid #2: Allright man! Next time *insert hardcore band name here... example: As Blood Runs Black* plays a breakdown, we'll two step all over them and completely anihilate them!

Smart but lazy people. Tufts people are very bright but did not feel the need to outwork their high school peers in an extraordinary way, which is reflected in them going to Tufts, instead to school were people are smart and not lazy, such as Princeton, LSE, Oxford and the likes.

John is smart and ambitious, he went to Princeton to become an amazing computer engineer. John is always the first at work every day and leaves last.
Bill is smart but lazy. He didnt work enough in High school to get into Princeton but somehow managed to get into Tufts.
One day, after college he wakes up and comes up with a great idea that involves a website. He hires John to help him. Bill retires at 35 and plays golf with his billionaire peers, John keeps figuring why he did not have the same idea.
