When someone unfamiliar with cars has theirs break down on the side of the road. The individual then pops the hood only to stare at the motor since they are unsure of the problem

The period of time needed to cast your eye over your Blackberry in order to see if you have mail etc.

Slightly longer than a quick glance and shorter than a gaze, when caught doing the blackberry stare, people not in the know will simply think you are stupid.

Toowoomba Stare

A slack-jawed attempt at conveying interest in another person. Generally noticed whilst driving an automobile, the "Toowoomba Stare" will present itself as a mouth opened look of contempt with unbroken eye contact as you drive by. Drool and glazed-over eyes may also be present.
