An inexperienced person very new at something, used as slang for "Newbie" or "Nub" many people use this word to mock an individual who is bad at something or just to refer to someone as a "Newbie".
Someone new to a game: How do I shoot?
Self proclaimed "professional": HAH what NOOB he doesn't know how to play!

Noob is a word that is sadly very common in the English language. It's used to describe someone who is average or lower than average at something. It is also used when someone else who thinks they are good at something (usually video games) gets beaten by someone else. That usually results in rage quitting which is when a person gets so mad that they can no longer play and breaks whatever they are playing on, usually followed breaking down in tears and calling everybody a, well, noob. Some side effects are red face, uncontrollable sobbing, punching inanimate objects, slapping themselves, and breaking their TV because it's just TOO MUCH!
Gamer 1: Dude, honestly I'm not even trying right now.
Gamer 2: It's so frickin' obvious bro, you're such a noob.
Gamer 1: NO I'M NOT!!! YOU'RE A NOOB OKAY, I'M NOT TRYING BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO TAKE IT EASY ON YOU!!!!
Gamer 2: Awww, is the poor baby gonna cry, does he need some milk.

A noob is someone who fails at a certain (specific) task, game or test. This also defines people who are new to something and need more participation and practise. When people are known to as a noob, it is often taken offensively.
