The term was coined in the suburban town of Montville, NJ at Aunty Mimi's annual Christmas party. These women are now grandmothers. In traditional British India women are commonly referred to as "Aunty" thus Monties (Aunty + Montville). These older woman are fab in their designer indian and western clothes and designer bags, but tough crew. The Monties.
