It was originally Joey Tribbiani (Friends) who used the phrase, it was a joke, a twist on “moot point.”
A moot point basically doesn’t matter: it’s not worth discussing because it just doesn’t apply for whatever reason.
In legal jargon, it means your argument is inapropo: it doesn’t apply & it’s not timely, so it’s actually NOT an argument because it’s inapplicable - not necessarily completely illogical; but for some reason, it doesn’t apply to the case.
