Talking Points

A point someone in an argument usually uses because it is considered a strong point.

The name of a JackBox Party Game, Found on Pack 7, where players must give a presentation (Power Point style), but the slides except the first (which is written by someone else based on a prompt and choosen by the presenter) are random or (for images) choosen by another player (the assistant).

The point is you pick a first slide, and then try to make shit up as you go along the way, hilarity ensues.

John Riccitiello

Former EA CEO and Unity CEO, among other things.

In the gaming sphere, those who know of him have a very negative opinion of him, for good reasons. He is part of the easily hatable executives in the video game industry, think of Andrew Wilson and Bobby Kotick, who somehow don’t have much interest in it, yet is in high positions. People like him have shitty ideas that somehow get implemented, ruinning the gaming industry.

In 2013, while he was CEO of EA, he suggested to investors (who they too have no idea or actual interest in the gaming industry except the money) that in the Battlefield FPS, players could pay to reload if they no longer have ammo. In the audio it is so clear he doesn’t play games in anyway, thinking just being a whale is enough. He would later resign due to EA’s financial performance…

In 2023, he tried to implement a fee for simply downloading a Unity Game, not for buying the game, no; for downloading. So if you wanted to fuck someone over, just install and uninstall their game and they would have to pay. Ultimately, the good thing is that he and others would resign, thinking that the world just “doesn’t get having so much money”, but the damage was done. (See Enshittification) Unity would later change its fees to be more reasonable, but most developers who worked with the engine had moved away.

Goes to show that money can save your ass when you fuck up so bad that people think you’re doing it on purpose or are just THAT incompetent and out-of-touch…
John Riccitiello just announced he would resign as Unity’s CEO, due to the runtime fee fiasco. Though many developers have stated that even then they will not return to Unity to develop future projects due to a lack of trust thanks to how this awful decision could’ve been made reality.

Nobody likes people like him. Kids, don’t be like him. And whales, unless you got a gambling addiction or some other problem; you’re also part of the problem…

AI Art

“Art” made by combining stolen images to make an image. The worst usage of Artificial Intelligence, where in an ideal scenario, AI would do things that are menial, repetitive, dangerous, while humans pursue more fulfilling careers like arts, sports, acting etc.

Not to be confused with something that is procedurally generated like a Minecraft world.

An excuse for billion dollar companies to lay off artists and actors (looking at you Activision).

AI bros, the ones defending this, really are just plainly jerks. They use tons of logical fallacies, rely on technicalities (like big companies trying to say “nuh huh” to the law), project themselves onto others and have a persecution complex, remind you, for stealing stuff, when they have (like everyone) the right equipment to do art (pencil, paper, hell even your mouse). It’s only at the detriment of artists. Big companies (the ones owning the AI) or small will use it. Just to cut costs. Apathy is the main issue. It’s easy to do nothing, everyone is guilty of that and it’s time we change that. (Also see “Philistine”)

PS: If you spend that much time on one “piece” why can’t you actually do it yourself?
AI Bro: Hey look at this AI Art I made.
Person B: Why can’t you do it yourself or commission an artist?
AI Bro: Well not everyone has the money for expensive drawing tablets. I just don’t have time.
Person B: You don’t need a drawing tablet to do art and you said this took you 60 hours.
AI Bro: Stop acting like a douche!
Person B: No need to steal from artists.
AI bro: Well technically, artists “copy” from other pieces of arts to do theirs.
Person B: You’re mistaking inspiration for plagiarism. While yes plagiarism has always existed, doesn’t make it any less ok, Generative AI will only make it worse.
AI bro: Well why can’t it just be a hobby?
Person B: Artists don’t have other industries to go to, usually with technological advancements people adapt and use their skills with it. But with AI, people will be laid off. For those where it is a hobby, I doubt they’d like to have their stuff stolen to make a profit, without compensation or consent. Artists, even before AI have constantly been screwed over, don’t blame them for that, blame those who do it.
AI Bro: Well like it or not it’s here to stay!
Person B: You can not do that and learn actual art if you were that into it.

AI Bro: Give me a break we constantly get death threats and you just constantly cope. I hope you loose your job.
Person B: I condemn threats, but that shouldn’t be a reason to dismiss what I’ve said because of some bad apples (nutpicking fallacy).
AI Bro: Well actually…

Persecution Complex

In mental illness, it is a delusion where the person suffering believes there is a grand conspiracy that specifically targets them or individuals like them, akin to gang stalking. This conspiracy supposedly is trying to make their life hell and everything that goes wrong in life is caused by this mysterious group, sometimes it’s the government, celebrities or just random people (See Apophenia).

Or (what this focuses on), when it involves assholes, they usually have a persecution complex over what is reasonable backlash to their shitty behaviour, using DARVO, psychological projection, gaslighting techniques , nutpicking, strawman arguments (and other logical fallacies) and then playing the victim. Claiming to be the victim of unfair judgement and mistreatment, when they in fact do that and/or advocate for it. Simple resistance to injustice to them is like an attack.
Examples of a persecution complex:
Christian fundamentalists claim to be persecuted by the mainstream media for “their pro family values” (see dog whistle), when they spew bigotry towards many marginalized groups and usually get a pretty paycheck for it. (See Astroturf)

AI “““artists””” claiming to be the victim of artists, who simply just want to not be plagiarized and have the thing they love and spent years doing be a stable way of living and not be treated like worthless numbers by executives (see Activision, EA, Disney, and other shitty executives)

Men’s “““rights activists””” claim that men are unfairly being treated by women. When they in fact are huge misogynistic douchebags that make women dislike men. Same people who if they were to meet real victims of the loneliness epidemic (ie someone who suffers from crippling social anxiety) they would make it worse for that person calling them things like a “pussy” and giving superficial advice like “man up” whilst belittling them.

Following the death of Brian Thompson, many healthcare executives claimed that they were being unfairly treated by people on social media, when those said executives can do the exact same thing that happen to Brian on a bigger scale and get away with it (thanks to lobbying).
