Generally accepted as the less popular song of especially a 12" single vynil recording, however in most urban street circles, b-side has come to be known as the more "real" or "true-to-the-streets" recordings of an artist. Ones that are less "main-stream" and less endulging of censors critics and airplay.

May be smoked and cured, in which case it becomes known as bacon, or salted, in which case it is known as salt pork.
