They usually will form a bond to Bondrewd & the bond is needed in order for the cartridges to take the curse for him instead. Cartridges are rather important to Bondrewd since the curses of level 5-7 always involves death/injury or the loss of humanity in some way. The procedure for cartridges was inspired by the process of making white whistles (Your Worth).
