Going for milk

A term to humorously describe the action of a father abandoning their family at home. The term comes from the trope of fathers stating that they are going to the grocery store to get milk or a pack of cigarettes.

A Detroit-based Crip-affiliated street crew active around West 7 Mile, Evergreen, and Telegraph on the city’s Westside. Often associated with “ScoreGang” (SCRG), they’re known for territorial graffiti, tag wars, and various street-level activities. Their presence has been noted in local reporting, neighborhood accounts, and online references, including DetroitStreetGangs.com, community videos, and images circulating on Flickr, Alamy, and Google Street View. Residents link the crew to tagging, disputes over territory, and occasional robberies or joyriding in the 48219 area.
