Useless, selfish person. Particularly someone who takes advantage of others and leeches off of them.

Our one roomate is a total chode. All he ever does is eat everyone's food and he hasn't paid in for the heat bill in 3 months.

Well, we use the term to mean 'turd'. I know it's incorrect, but I heard the word on south park years ago and thought it meant 'poo', so we've all used it in our household ever since.
