Puppy Rape

a literary device in which the writer takes a character and puts them through obscene acts of violence and torture for the sake of getting the reader to feel sorry for said character. It's often used by inexperianced/lazy writers who lack the ability to develop a character naturally/create a legitimate arc.

Most young cartoonist I see online are just filled thier comics with Puppy Rape! Nobody know how to tell a story nowadays with being over sensationalist about it.
