Death Grunt

A vocal style, mostly used by death / black metal bands. It is a very deep guttural sound, made from the back of the throat. Bands such as Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel use it as their sole vocal style, while bands like Opeth, In Flames and Dimmu Borgir use it alongside a more melodic singing voice.
Not to be confused with the Screeching, with is used by bands such as Darkthrone and Cradle Of Filth (who also use death grunts).

The new Paradise Lost record has less of the death grunts that filled their early work.

The grunting noise a fat guy makes when he is either getting out of a chair or bending over to pick something up. The grunt is mostly along the lines of a "hyurk!"

Harvey bent over to pick up the donut and let out a very loud fatty grunt.

fattie grunt

A sound that is made when a rather large person bends over to pick something up or otherwise makes a move that elicits a groan like sound. Usually this sound is something like "ugghhhhh."

As Peter bent over to pick up some chalk on the floor, a fattie grunt escaped his lips.

Manly Grunt

A nonverbal sound, such as a grunt often performed by jocks. It is used to express power, masculinity and the like. The more aggressive, guttural forms of this grunt can render opposition paralyzed with fear, leaving them open to attack and mauling by forest creatures. (In cities the mauling is often performed by small, tasteless statuary.)

First Jock: *manly grunt*
Second (and far more manly) Jock: *MANLIER GRUNT*
First Jock: *EEEK!*
Forest Creatures: YAY!
