Panic Bidding

The act of bidding on an item in an auction setting in desperation or anxiety of weather someone else will purchase the item you have become emotionally engaged in.

Paying too much for an item on ebay because it is rare and the audience is so wide spread you feer someone else will win the item. Other examples include Barrett-Jackson auction and over paying for a classic car because of egos and money. I was panic bidding on the ferrari because it was a great deal and there were too many other bidders and was afraid of being a loser.

word police

A person who takes it upon themselves to correct the grammar of not only their close friends but also causal acquaintances, often at the expense of disregarding surrounding circumstances.

Friend:
"Dude, where was you last night?!? I saw your girl at the club getting all up on some other dude. She totally left with him and his buddy, yelling something about a threesome."

Word Officer:
"Don't you mean, 'where were you last night?'?"

Friend:
"Dude, who are you? The Word Police??"

police state

A country where the police watch what you do and try to control your life. Where there's cameras in town centres and on public transport. Where you can be arrested because of something you said to a friend about the leaders of your country. Where police stop and search people for no reason. Where you can be detained without charge or trial. Where the state plants bugs with impunity. Where protesters have to get police permits, and where police regularly attack protesters.

Hang on. That sounds like America and Britain today!

Smash all police states! Down with Patriot Act, ASBOs, CCTV, ID cards, biometrics, no fly lists, Terrorism Act, Gitmo, Belmarsh, Public Order Act, and Nazi bastard politicians and pigs!

kernel panic

A kernel panic is a type of error that occurs when the core (kernel) of an operating system receives an instruction in an unexpected format, or that it fails to handle properly. A kernel panic may also follow when the operating system is not able to recover from a different type of error. A kernel panic can be caused by damaged or incompatible software or, more rarely, damaged or incompatible hardware.

Dude, my laptop sucks... it suddenly developed a kernel panic about 15 seconds after boot-up.

Panic Attack

The absolute worst possible feeling a person can ever experience. Period. Basically having a panic attack feels like impending doom even though absolutely nothing can be going wrong in the outside world. Symptoms include, but are certainly not limited to:

Intense Anxiety/fear
Dizziness
Tingling sensation
Fear of heart stopping
Tunnel Vision
Spinning/Spiraling sensation when you close your eyes
Throat/airway constricting
Heart palpitations
Pounding/racing heart/thoughts
Sweating

Basically, it just majorly sucks balls to go through a (real) panic attack. Panic attacks are one of the most misunderstood terms in today's vocabulary. Commonly in today's society people will make the statement "I'm having a panic attack because I have so much work/school/other issues to think about", this of course is not true, because someone who is going through a panic attack is literally so scared they can't even speak. It is actually a mental disorder that should be treated immediately because literally NO ONE deserves to feel this shitty.

If I met the man who murdered my grandmother, and had the option of making him experience panic attacks as punishment, I don't think I would. Literally crushing his nuts with 2 bricks would be a less severe punishment
