Used to decribe something as good or ok, or to give permission to do something, or as an exclamation of joy. Very northern english phrase.
tis - it is, reet - alright

"can i borrow the car?" "aye, tis reet, just dont wreck it."

"As soon as i walked into work the boss said 'I've put the match on for you, watch that and then you can do yer work.'...TIS REET!"

When the subject cannot act upon something they'd want to act upon, but they can't due to some restraint or factor of some sort.

I can't Adam, my hands are tied.
