Verm
A person who advances through manipulation, exploitation, political maneuvering, or appropriation of other people's work while contributing little of genuine value themselves.
An individual whose primary motivations are power, status, control, and personal advancement, often achieved at the expense of colleagues, subordinates, friends, or institutions.
A human parasite disguised as a professional.
Typically characterized by taking credit for the efforts of others, using charm and diplomacy as camouflage, exploiting organizational hierarchies, and treating people as tools rather than human beings.
Unlike an openly hostile person, a verm often appears helpful, supportive, or competent until prolonged exposure reveals a pattern of self-serving behavior and emotional predation.
A verm thrives on influence, recognition, authority, and personal gain, frequently leaving behind exhausted, demoralized, or discarded individuals in pursuit of their own advancement.
Plural: vermz
Etymology: Possibly derived from an evolutionary branch somewhere between a leech, a parasite, and a middle manager.
