Thothotting

Thothotting
verb \ tho-THOT-ing \

Origin:
A portmanteau of Thoth (Egyptian god of wisdom/writing) and thot (modern slang for someone who seeks attention in a provocative way).

Definition
1. To use “ancient wisdom” or mystical/intellectual vibes as a thirst trap.
Dropping deep quotes, Egyptian/occult aesthetics, or spiritual language while clearly angling for attention, admiration, or validation.
2. To flex knowledge the way a thot flexes selfies.
Not lying—just packaging “I’m enlightened / esoteric / wise” as the main bait.
• “Alexandrea says it’s just about sharing esoteric wisdom, but all those low-lit selfies with Thoth quotes are straight Thothotting.”
• “That video of Alexandrea explaining Egyptian mythology in a silk robe? Informative, sure—but she’s definitely Thothotting.”
• “Alexandrea’s feed is a masterclass in Thothotting: hieroglyphs, moon rituals, and captions about higher consciousness wrapped around thirst-trap photos.”
• “He thought Alexandrea was just into theology, then realized her whole page was curated Thothotting for the algorithm.”
