Muslims believe that the Christian god, Jesus was a prophet, and thus do not hate him or condemn Christians. Both jews and christians are seen as brothers to muslims, and the religions are connected.
Jihad is not a call to war, but refers to an internal struggle with oneself to do the right thing.
It is not sexist. Actually, during the time of its revelation it provided the most equality. Women cover up based on personal choice, so that people will judge them on their mind, not their bodies. Women were encouraged to have jobs and keep their own money. They were independent from their husbands.
These terrorists you see on the news are NOT muslims. They have twisted the religion into something hateful, similar to what many religious fanatical groups have done with other religions. They are ignorant and are in no way representative of the assimilated and kind muslims throughout the world.

For those who think that all muslims are terrorists:
Coran did never mention that muslims should kill all non-muslims. It said: attack them if they attack you(like in a war). Terrorists are not muslim, or we can say that they're muslims that don't get the religion, wich means, dumb people. God did never tell muslims to kill any innocent (muslim, christian....etc)Conserning the way of wearing: people used to wear those clothes in the past. but now, the world has changed so women don't have to be like ninjas because, we can't know if it's a man or a woman.islam said that women should wear something that can't attract men sexually.now women are wearing a veil and respectable clothes. at least, for the non-muslims, we can know that this is a woman.she can wear whatever she wants, even if it's a lamp on her head or anything. it's her taste and it's her choice. why not criticizing hippies with their long hair and their beard?totally forgot that they're not muslims.I won't say that all the muslims are good. there are muslims that smell like shit and eat like pigs, racists and don't want to talk with "those who don't like allah"(i agree with you), but there are also peaceful muslims that are polite and talk with non-muslims considering them as humans with feelings and brain, and also as their brothers in the humanity.

I will ignore the Hadiths (with such wonderful quotes as "If a woman's conduct is mischievous or immodest, the husband has the right to beat her up but must not break her bones" TR. P 439) and will stick to the divine infallible word of Allah through Prophet Mohammed.

The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet and alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom; Save those who repent before ye overpower them. For know that Allah is Forgiving, merciful. 5:33-34

Muslim- a follower/believer of the religion of Islam. Muslims leave normal lives like you and I, only they are more strict on certain subjects. Like many other races, muslims are often misunderstood to be terrorists/anti-semitics/anti-christian/anarchists/anti-american. Most muslims do not commit acts of terrorism. Due to the actions of a few bad muslims, they have singlehandedly created a sterotypical image of a muslim: a towel headed, fanatical, suicidal, pyshcopath. They are one of the most misunderstood people on earth. Many people say that if we kill all the muslims, then there would be no more terrorists activities. That is genocide, and it would makes us no better than the nazis. Many of the things we use today are from muslim decent. Like coffee, algebra,and the concept of zero.

Contrary to what most people seem to think, Muslims are not supposed to kill Christians and Jews. In fact, the Quran specifically says so.
And Muhammad personally would be appalled by the notion of women being forced to wear veils. He firmly believed men and women to be equals.

Muslim is an arabic word meaning ( submiter ) as in the one who submitted him self to God.
He must do the follwoing or is not considered a muslim:
1.Shahadah (Testimony of Faith)
The first pillar of Islam is to believe and declare the faith by saying the Shahadah (lit. 'witness'), known as the Kalimah.
2.Salah (Daily Ritual Prayers)
Prayer (Salah), in the sense of worship, is the second pillar of Islam. Prayer is obligatory and must be performed five times a day. These five times are dawn (Fajr), immediately after noon (Dhuhr), mid-afternoon ('Asr), sunset (Maghrib), and early night (Isha').
3.Sawm (Fasting the Month of Ramadhan)
The fourth pillar of Islam is fasting. Allah prescribes daily fasting for all able, adult Muslims during the whole of the month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the lunar calendar, beginning with the sighting of the new moon.
4.Zakah (Alms Tax for Poor)
The third pillar of Islam is the alms-tax (Zakah). The word in Arabic implies "purification" and it is understood to mean that a person "purifies" his holdings of wealth from greed and stinginess.
5.Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca)
The fifth pillar of Islam is to make a pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah, in Saudi Arabia, at least once in one's lifetime. This pillar is obligatory for every Muslim, male or female, provided that he/she is physically and financially able to do so.

All prophets Submitted their will to One God.
In English 'ER' is added a word to indicate one is currently doing it i.e. for the word 'walk' becomes 'walker' or the word 'sleep' becomes 'sleeper' or the word 'fast' becomes 'faster'.
However in Arabic 'MU' is added to indicate the same thing. So if you're living Islam then you're a 'Mu'Islam. Which becomes the word Muslim. Therefore you are living, following and practicing Islam.
