Largest City in Wisconsin. Population of close to 600,000 but on the decline. Unfortunately the city is best known by Coo Coo Cal's "In My Projects." Like most midwestern cities, Milwaukee is at it's best in the summertime when you can ride through the city and everybody is out with the whips on chrome and females with next to nothing on.
Milwaukee be jumpin when it's hot.

The city that many bands skip when on tour.
I really want to see -insert band here- but the closest they're coming to Wisconsin is Chicago! Why do all the good bands skip Milwaukee?

most segregated city in U.S.
most underrated city in U.S. (constantly living in Chicago's shadow)
most unnecessary danger (aka drunk driving, murder, overdosing teenagers, etc.)
most used in random situations (aka Wayne's World)
most fair-weather fans (aka brewers and bucks fans)
most diverse weather conditions (90s and humid in summer, frickin' cold and snowy in winter)
Wayne (to Alice Cooper): "So, do you come to Milwaukee often?"

Milwaukee is known for beer, dairy products(and lots of them) and where most of the black people live. And where most people divide themselves. Let me quide you on the basics:

Northside:
Blacks,Hmongs,Whites(although 9:10 the live in the suburban ranch houses)and more hispanics are moving up here which is what we need on the Northside. Other races that live on the Northside are Iranians.

Southside:
Prodominately Mexican and Polish communities, especially when you go to Mitchell St. It;s this Mexican neighborhood which is pretty cool, When I get older, I want to live or work around there. Other races that live their are Hmongs (very few though!) and some Black people here and there.

Upper Eastside: A perfect balance of Puerto Ricans, Blacks, and Whites. though yes, I may say it is sort of inner city-like but it's kinda cool to me up there. They have a Hispanic food store call Pablo's(not sure if it's spelled correctly) but they have some good food there.

Lower Eastside: Basically downtown. Mostly Whites and Far East Indians live on that side. But I have seen quite a few Black people there. The best parts of downtown Milwaukee:The diverse numbers of restaurants and bakeries, Grand Avenue Mall, the Milwaukee River, the big buildings, and most of all, it's right by Lake Michigan.

Westside:
Probably the most diverse side of Milwaukee. Everyone from everywhere live there. What more do I have to say?

Milwaukee is ghetto, though. This can be good and bad. On one hand, a lot of Whites and Asians are ghetto, which creates ghettoversity (ghetto diversity) because we already know alot of Hispanics and Blacks are ghetto. But on the other hand, there are just a few people that screw it up for every race. And self-segregation is still here. I know all of this because of the simple fact that I live in Milwaukee. I live on the Northwestside of Milwaukee(so I have a lot of friends of different origins) and I go to school on the Lower Eastside. Oh yeah, one thing I forgot is that 1/4 of the popualtion comes from Chicago. Cheap houses here. Other words for Milwaukee are: Mil-town, Madhouse, Milcity, and Beercollectors.
Yo, I need some fresh beer from , but i ain't old enuff, can you go to Miltown fo' me? Don't worry, it'll only take 'bout 1hour to get there and 2 hours back.

B: "It's Monday"

A: "What the fuck is your point? Asshole. Lets drink"

B: "Oh, yea, I almost forgot this is Milwaukee where everyday is a day."

A: "Wtf are you talking about?"

B: "I dunno, I've been drinkin' over here, dick."

Wisconsin's largest city, located on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan. A chronically underrated city that is experiencing something of a revival after spending almost three decades in a rebuilding phase due to the loss of blue-collar jobs. None the less, it still struggles with the misconceptions of outsiders stemming from historically-inaccurate 70's sitcoms and sensationalistic media reports (for example: health care, not brewing is Milwaukee's biggest industry and the city is home to a number of integrated neighborhoods such as Riverwest, Washington Heights and Northwest Side).

Nowadays, Milwaukee is home to beautiful architecture, revitalized neighborhoods (such as Bronzeville/MLK Drive, Riverwest, Bay View (aka Gay View), Third Ward and Walker's Point), GOOD hip hop music (Black Elephant, Taste Emcees, Growing Nation, etc.), progressive politics, diverse ethnic restaurants, a great park system, and more theaters per capita than any other city in the U.S.

Unfortunatley, Milwaukee still struggles with a notoriously racist and trigger-happy police force, corrupt politicians, and an underfunded public school system. There's also not many higher education opportunities for people of color. That's because Milwaukee's two biggest universities (UWM and Marquette) are lily-white and recruit students who come from Northern Wisconsin or the Chicago suburbs rather than the city.

If you come to Milwaukee, DON'T listen to the brochures. Water Street and Summerfest are lame, touristy and shells of their former selves. Instead, visit the Milwaukee Art Museum (even if you don't like art, it's THAT cool of a building), the Riverwalk, the Allen-Bradley Clock (which is bigger than Big Ben), Miller Park, Brady Street and Bronzeville aka MLK Drive.
Milwaukee: Without us, Wisconsin would be Iowa.
