A way of getting somebodies attention similar to "yo"...Can be used in just about any sentence.

<Mainly used in Mississippi and Tennessee>

Pronounced like "JEW"

"Say ju, what time do you get off work?"
"i think im working overtime ju"
"alright ju, call me after you get off"
"aight ju"

ju-ju

A small stone with magical powers; a fetish or amulet. Is often worn, especially by someone who wants magical powers at his/her disposal (i.e. someone with an axe to grind).

Don't use the ju-ju to grind your axe (a whetstone works better).

jus

Spin, or english on a ball, especially when it is the perfect amount for the task at hand.

Pronounced as in au jus, with a silent s.

I think if you hit it with a touch of jus the ball will hold out against the early break and trickle on down to the hole.

Oh! That just missed! I think with just a little more jus that ball would have curled into the net!
