The word arose because some people claimed that Blacks cannot be racist. So a different word was needed.
Example: Joy was a Bogit for filing a report, blasting a young man for shedding "white man's tears" at a trial, saying he was trying to gain sympathy with an emotion he did not really feel. Many others saw the tears as genuine.
