Mystery Science Theater 3000

A cult television comedy series created by Joel Hodgson (replaced by Mike Nelson after the fifth season)originating from Eden Prairie, Minnesota. It consisted largely of fictional characters making fun of existing cult films, a format which proved to be influential. Original episodes aired on Comedy Central and the SciFi Channel from 1989 to 1999. The show started with a short run on Minnesota UHF station KTMA channel 23 from 1988 to 1989.

Arguments about whether Joel or Mike was better on Mystery Science Theater 3000 are usually pointless.

Threatening aura

A place, person or object that makes you feel like you're in danger just by looking at it, sometimes characterized by unsanitary condition. It maybe a dirty toilet with a scary bugs bunny back seat, or maybe it's a gaming setup completely littered and covered with redbull cans and cigarette butts; no matter what it is, you can actually feel the bad juju just by looking at the picture.

"Yo check out this toilet look how disgusting it is."
"It doesn't even have a seat it's just an orange cone..."
"Definitely gives off a threatening aura doesn't it?"

Lumina Studio Theater

A kick-ass acting group in the United States. Not the car. We do Shakespeare, Dickens and random shit made up by our director. We usually (but not always) twist the setting or characters somehow. Lumina is not to be treated casually. We take it seriously. It is not an after-school activity. And not a cult, at all...

"I have a Lumina Studio Theater rehearsal from 12:30 to 3:00 on Saturday."

"Really? That short?"

Or

"What do you do do for fun?"
"I do Lumina."
Or
"Can't you just skip a Lumina rehearsal once?"
"Hahahahahahaha."

Movie Theater Math

A Sheldon Cooper optimization activity: evaluating multiple seats in a theater by sitting in them and making strange hooting noises, to evaluate the acoustic dynamics of the theater and pick the absolute best seat in the house... It embarrasses everyone around him.

Time to see Star Wars! Maybe we should wait to enter until Sheldon finishes up his movie theater math assessment.
