Tenor

The highest male singing voice. Usually plays the hero, the lover in opera or musical plays. They get all of the best pieces written for the male voice.

The countertenor has the normal range, speaking and singing, as a regular tenor, but is capable of singing in the contralto, mezzo-soprano, and, sometimes, even soprano ranges. They use falsetto, rather than their lower range, when singing.

The lyric tenor is the lighter, sweeter sounding, while the dramatic tenor has a stronger, richer, more heroic voice.

There's the Heldentenor, and he looks interested in the dramatic soprano, all decked out in her brass chestplate and horned helmet.

Scott Tenorman

Sub-character on South Park, episode 501, where Scott sells Cartman his pubes for 10 dollars. After Cartmen learns from Kyle, Stan, and Kenny that you have to grow your own pubes, he seeks revenge on trying to get his 10 dollars back. After many failures, Cartman makes the ultimate plan. He decives everyone into thinking that he is going to have Radiohead, Scott's favorite band, come to Cartman's "Chile-Con-Carnival", where he is going to have a pony bite off Scott's weiner. Instead, Cartman tricks Scott into thinking this, but instead the Redneck that owns the pony kills Scott's parents, when they try to take it after Scott tells them that a pony is being held at the Redneck's farm; trying to make it so Cartman's plan is foiled. With the parents dead, Cartman takes Scott's parents, spends a night with a hacksaw, and has a surprise for Scott at the Cook-off. When they are switching Chile to taste, Scott thinks that Cartman is eatting a Chile full of pubes, but what is really Chef's chile. Cartman reveals to Scott his plan, and tells Scott that Scott is eating his parents, who Cartman hacked up. Radiohead comes and tells Scott he is a crybaby and uncool kid. Kyle and Stan promise never to mess with Cartman again.

tenor

The high male singing voice in opera, choir, and music in general, with a singing range from C3 (an octave below middle C) to C5 (a man's high C) an octave above.

Situated between the contralto and baritone, the tenor usually plays the male lead in opera and musical theater, usually a young romantic hero.

Many pop singers are tenors, although the vocal subcategories used in opera are not applied to them. Examples include Justin Timberlake, Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert, Matthew Morrison, Darren Criss, Chord Overstreet, Freddy Mercury, Steven Tyler, and Adam Pascal.

According to vocal weight/voice type and range, tenors are usually divided into five different categories:

countertenor: has the same singing as speaking voice as a regular tenor, but his natural range is in the alto (or even soprano) register.

Leggiero ("light") tenor: flexible voice with a very high range, he's a vocal acrobat.

Lyric tenor: A strong, sweet, lightweight voice usually reserved for the boy next door and other vulnerable, naive charcters. Examples include Roberto Alagna and Luciano Pavarotti.

Spinto tenor: A lyric voice with a strong dramatic edge, a bridge between lyric and dramatic. Examples include Placido Domingo and Mario Lanza.

Dramatic tenor: A powerful, emotive, edgy voice which is suited to bold, tragic heroes. Examples include Mario del Monaco and Jose Cura

A saxophone that is lower than an alto, and higher than a bari. They are commonly used in jazz bands, and musicians who play it are often very good at soloing/improvising.

The tenor sax player was given a standing ovation for his solo.

Tenor sax

A member of the saxophone family which is placed in between the Baritone and Alto voices. This is considered one of the sweetest, smooth, melodic sounding insturments by some peoples opinion. The Tenor Sax is a favored instrument in many Jazz ensembles and Ska bands. This sax is known for being able to blast out beutiful sounding solos at fast speeds. People who play the Tenor are usually extremely suave and good looking and can usually pick up any gal they would want.

Girl 1: "Look how hot that kids over there is."
Girl 2: " Which one do u mean?"
Girl 1: " The extremely hot one wiht the Tenor Sax."
Girl 2: "Oh of course the one with the Tenor, sorry!"

Tenoroc High School

A High School that is located in between the cities of Lakeland and Auburndale Fl. It's a fairly new school, that has recently opened in August of 2008. Unfortunately, the varsity football team has yet to win a football game and the principal seems to have a creepy love affair with has staff and students. Also their school Television show (TNT) is awful.

Tenor Drums

A series of 3-36 drums. For Marching Band/Drum Corps usually when marching only 6 are used. Although on stage performances 36 can be mounted on stands. Also the best percussion kit ever. Generally weigh about 30 lbs. Occasionally referred to as "Quads" because of the 4 main drums used. Drummer, knowing they're limit knowledge don't know they are called Tenors.

Tuba player: "Look at that tenorline!"
Tenor sax player: "We only have 3 tenor saxes though..."
Middle School tenor player: "THER CALLED QUADS IDIOT!"
Tuba player: "No, because ther are up to 36 Tenor Drums and 'Quad' referres to 4."
