Sodium Pentathol was discovered in the early 1930s by Ernest H. Volwiler and Donalee L. Tabern, working for Abbott Laboratories. The term "sodium pentathol" is coined by Abbot Laboratories.

It is also a song by the thrash metal band Anthrax

Sodium Thioglycolate is synthesized from Thioglycolic acid and sodium hydroxide and then you boil it and then let it dry in a vacuum chamber to eliminate water.
