LYI is the Lebanese Youth Indicator. It aims at measuring how healthy the socio-economic situation in Lebanon is based on the access of the competent and independent Lebanese youth to decision making roles. It also considers other factors revolving around the role of the Lebanese youth in reviving the struggling Lebanese economy, reversing the corrupt political scene, and the aching society. The indicator looks into both the resident Lebanese youth and the Diaspora across the world.
The indicator was formulated by Jihad El Hokayem as part of his endeavor Rethinking Lebanon on the back of the crisis in Lebanon that surged in Q1 2020.

Some people might find it cringe, but tone indicators are seriously useful for anyone who finds it hard to understand the true meaning or implications in someone's texts, especially someone you don't know well. I would go so far as to say it's an evolution in our way of communicating online. They should really be used more often by people who naturally text in a cold and dry manner.
