A horrible corporate ad-fuck of a magazine that has reviewers who know almost nothing about music. While sometimes they will give high ratings to albums that are worthy, they are often afraid to give shitty pop and pop-punk (Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan etc...) anything under 2 or 3 stars. WTF is that?!?! Not to mention all the crappy rap that they have the nerve to call "art" (not all rap is bad but you wouldn't know that from their reviews) They also take an MTV-esque whiny liberal stance in their politics section (I myself am a strong liberal but I find their articles extremely biased playing into Hollywood style "limousine liberalism")
In the end their just another glorifier (along with radio, the RIAA and MTV) of bad music in America.
Do yourself a favor and support Indie artists and those with actual talent, not top 40 pop/pop-puck/emo/rap songs.

I will say some Rolling Stone's music reviews are unbiased and dead-on, however the majority are complete bullshit.

Get the Papaya Was A Rolling Stone Burger mug.One of the worst magazines I've seen yet. Laughable content includes "Top 100 Guitarists ever" or, even worst, "Top 100 bands ever". Rather than base it on skill/performance/ect, Rolling Stone thought it would be much better to simply list every popular band from the 70s and earlier.

By this time, 1972, The Temptations were far removed from their romantic-chart topping ballads of the 1960's such as My Girl, Ain't Too Proud To Beg, I Wish It Would Rain, I'm Losing You and Beauty's Only Skin Deep, and were more into what became known as Psychedelic Funk, which was something that caused Eddie Kendricks to leave the group as he felt it wasn't keeping true to what made the Temps great. The song was sung by Lead singer Dennis Edwards(one of his last songs as a Temp), falsetto and newcomer Damon Harris(replaced Kendricks), originals Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin, and Richard Street(replacing Paul Williams and was with the guys pre-Temptations days), the music was played by a combination of The Funk Brothers(with the Temps from the beginning) and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Recorded in 1972 at Motown, Studio A, it was a 6:54 single edit and 12:02 album edit song. Sang entirely in B-flat minor, very unusual for a song to stay in one key. Won 3 Grammy's, peaked at number 1. A great song overall
