[Pomo]

Early usage of the term pomo dates from 1991 when Pomo Afro Homo, an African American gay theatrical collective, premiered "Fierce Love" at Josie's in San Francisco's Castro district. "Pomo" is short for post-modern, plus "Afro" plus "Homo" was about as avant guard as you could get in those dark days. "Fierce Love" was a seminal play during the height of the AIDS epidemic and it dramatised a number of issues about masculinity and sexuality that were very difficult in the community at the time. Important derivation.

I came out in the Pomo Afro Homo days in the Castro.

Portmanteau of the words "poser" (Brit, Austral & NZ informal a person who likes to be seen in trendy clothes in fashionable places) and "homo" (Used as a disparaging term for a gay man or lesbian.)
The pomo is characterized by the propensity to proclaim oneself as a homosexual for the express purpose of procuring sexual favor from people of the opposite sex. The pomo preys on artistic college females using their trendy, sensitive pomosexual wiles.

Damn it. "Gay Sean" the frigging pomo is tapping Kelly the hot art major's ass once again... FML.
