Poncey

The way in which a 'ponce' may act. The actions of a pompous tosser who thinks their value is higher than it is actually worth. The actions of one who thinks they are either overly stylish, cool or smart etc, when usually their IQ is akin to a fruit and they seem like a stunt double for one of the 'idiots' on the programme 'Nathan Barley'. Usually anyone with half a brain tends to laugh at these types, but unfortunately for society, this type of action is actually accepted amongst the 'Celeb' and 'Music' industry with open arms and is also worshipped. Oh well.
Fucken' 'ell, I'm sick of that David Beckham and his poncey ways and his girly clothes.

pince-nez

Pince-nez (also known as Oxford glasses) are a style of spectacles which were popular in the 19th century. They are supported without earpieces by pinching the bridge of the nose. Their name comes from the french, meaning 'to pinch the nose'. Pince-nez first appeared in the 1840's, reaching their popularity around 1880 to 1900. They experienced a revived popularity in the late 1990's and in 2000, with the release of The Matrix. One of the main characters, Morpheus, wore a pair of reflective Pince-nez as part of his outfit.

Piney

A person who lives in the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey and is given to wearing unbuttoned flannel shirts with Lynyrd Skynyrd or Molly Hatchet tour shirts underneath. Most frequently sited in Southern Ocean County and environs. Known for yelling, "Freebird!" whenever they are in the audience at a live concert in the hope that there are other Skynyrd fans there that they can hook up with to drink beer and fight with later. To date, no band has actually ever played Freebird at the request of a Piney.

half pincer

A term used by "Hannibal" Smith as a euphemism for a frontal assault. Used by The A-Team in nearly all engagements.

A "pincer" maneuver involves a force splitting into two and attacking the enemy from both sides, thus a "half pincer" logically means the force attacks the enemy from only one side.
Hannibal - "Now, the plan is your basic straight-on surprise hit-n-run attack. If anything goes sour, we split-up and rendezvous at the drop zone. Got it?"

BA - "This ain't much of a plan, Hannibal."

Hannibal - "Are you kidding? It's a classic! It's your half pincer movement inside a guarded perimeter. Tried and true, BA!"

Pencey Prep

1. Name of a (fictional) school that the character Holden Caulfield is kicked out of in the classic novel "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger.
2. Name of a band formerly fronted by Frank Iero, who is one of the guitarists for internationally popular alternative rock band My Chemical Romance, the front man for hardcore outfit Leathermouth, and owner/founder of Skeleton Crew Records and Clothing Label. The book came first, so it's assumed that Frank and his band mates are fans of "The Catcher in the Rye".

One of Pencey Prep's most popular songs goes by the title "The Secret Golfish"...yeah, I don't get it either.
Person 1: So there's this band Pencey Prep who are really awesome and I think their name is just so creative!
Person 2: Uh, yeah, they're pretty good. But Pencey Prep was taken from this old book...
Person 1: *kills Person 2 with blunt object*

Piney

Southern New Jersey term for locals with a long history of living in the area-the "originals" some say. Direct decendants of the orginals families that settled the area. Many Piney have made a living off of the land by farming and hunting or off the water by claming, fishing. Some have been boat builders and wood carvers. Many have participated in the local blue grass music scene. Part of a rich historical tradition not understood or respected by some arrogant newcommers. I was a "city slicker" 40 years ago but those of us who respected the locals assimilated better. Pineys have plenty of reasons to be proud.
In the local cemeteries you will find generations of Piney family graves.
