Philadelphia 

Probably the most misunderstaood city in the U.S. Those not familiar with the city are usually aware of the Revolutionary history and maybe some unique quirks like cheesesteaks and pretzels. Philadelphia suffers from a bit of red headed stepchild syndrome in that it is a major population center with a unique character but largely goes unrecognized in the American psyche due to the overbearing reputation of nearby New York. The two cities are extremely different and Philadelphians take (sometimes hostile) offense to outsiders who don't bother to understand this. New Yorkers tend to have an arrogance that everything is better in their city. Actually some things are better in Philadelphia. Check it out, just don't mouth off because even though it is the City of Brotherly Love, the inhabitants aren't above giving you a brotherly pop in the mouth.

My girlfriend's folks are coming over to dinner and they have never been to Philadelphia. I guess I'd better get rid of the Schmidt's and invest in some Dockstreet.

Philadelphia 

The city of brotherly love, where we eat, breathe, and live Eagles. This is the city that cheered Michael Irvin breaking his neck at the vet or the city that brought freedom to America with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Whether it is clogging our arties with cheesesteaks or stuffing our face with the best food in America, we are the City of Brotherly Love. We don't care about what other people think about Philly. You can diss our city or call us the worst fans in America, but that is because you're just jealous you're not from Philly.

Rocky, Allen Iverson, and Donovan McNabb are what makes Philadelphia the best city in the world. Even when the odds are against them, they give it their all. That is all we ask of our athletes.

BY far the most underrated city on the planet. Everyone always talks shit about us or the eagles and its really getting old. No we are definitely not a wannabe New York either, to all the fags who keep saying that. We have our own accent and slang. Go to philly then check out NY you'll see what i mean.

Philadelphia 

Philadelphia is a city where everyone in a phillies, flyers, or eagles jersey are like brothers even if they have never seen eachother before. We have a funny accent like "wooder" or "jeatyet?" (did you eat yet) we hate the mets and devils and rangers and penguins. we are loyal to all our sports teams and never doubt them. sure there is some violence but what major city doesnt have any violence? we are not second to ny or pittsburgh philly is clearly the best city to live in. center city is tremendous from love park to the parkway, the vet was not just a stadium but a memory pit for everyone myself and many other people witnessed their first phillies game there. Philadelphia is a city where brotherly love is everywhere i love philly and always will.

Anyone who complains that Philly is all ghetto has obviously never been there. Yes, a large amount of the city is ghetto, but it's not any different in the Bronx, Brooklyn, or even Manhattan. I go to school in the Bronx and the borough is about 70% ghetto. Even in NY, you just can't escape it. Half of Brooklyn is places like Brownsville, Bed-Stuy, East New York which are no better than North Philly. In fact, I think Philly is a cooler city in many ways. New York is so big, there's no room for city pride or unity among residents. Philly has some cool architecture too and lots of interesting neighborhoods

Philadelphia 

An Eastern Pennsylvania city, and the largest city in Pennsylvania. It is nicknamed the 'City of Brotherly Love.' It is home to the Philly Cheese Steak, the Hoagie, and many sports teams, including the Philadelphia Flyers (National Hockey League), Philadelphia Eagles (National Football League), Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers (National Basketball Association), Philadelphia Phillies (Major League Baseball), Philadelphia Wings (National Lacrosse League), Philadelphia Union (Major League Soccer), and formerly the Philadelphia Soul (Arena Football League) and the Philadelphia Athletics (Major League Baseball).

Philadelphia is home to many corporations, including Comcast, Lincoln National Corporation, Tasty Baking Corporation (makers of Tastykakes), and Pepboys Auto.

The city was once the capital of the United States of America, until taken over by British soldiers in the American Revolutionary War. Philadelphia is home to Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence was created) and the Liberty Bell.

Terry visited Philadelphia recently. She had a nice time.

Philadelphia 

A spectacularly beautiful, spectacularly mismanaged city whose high point came in the 18th century when it was the center of the American revolution's planning and execution. Having fostered the creation of the modern world, Philadelphia retired from the scene. The nickname Philly,' the 'blue-collar' sobriquiet, the cheesesteaks-and-scrapple rep, the sports losers mythology - all dross, all amusements for a frivolous era. Philadelphia is an old, serene snake coiled atop her rocky Main Line, an ambitionless city with old blood, old sins and old soul.

What outsiders never understand is that Philadelphia doesn't care. NYC's enormity, DC's power, Boston's ego, LA's glitter, Chicago's brawn - Philadelphia just doesn't care about any of it. She is the ultimate insider town.
