A popular photographic concept on Instagram, involving all shots and images in a purely monochromatic theme, using a black-and-white tone (hence the "mono", from "monochrome") to add contrast, perspective, and/r create an entirely new abstract concept to the capture. However, it isn't simply a "black-and-white" shot. It is intended to be used for greater artistic effect. Invented by a guy named Josh, from Singapore.

#monoart is taking over Instagram by storm. You can put "monoart" on anything to make any ordinary object seem more ideational.
