"When are we going to the field?" The field is a metonym of a Baseball Park

" I want to go to the movies!" The movies is a metonym of the theater.

"This is a fantastic dish!" Dish is a metonym of the food item on the dish.
"The White House" White House is a metonym of the Executive Branch of the United States.
