A leaper is a person who has a lot of friends but no close or best friends. You usually see them at lunch going from table to table sitting only minutes at a time with each group of friends. Leapers can be popular nerds.

Trucker slang, refers to a beaver or buffalo who is known to go from one semi to another, servicing the drivers. From the practice of moving between two closely-parked semis via the opened side doors of the sleepers, without touching the ground.
