A synonym for "best friends," faves is an overused word, in the same way that random is overused, by sorority girls who want to describe their best gal pals in a short and "cute" way.

unproblematic fave

When your favorite singer/artist/musician/actor/celebrity doesn't have problematic views or opinions, or doesn't go around making them public, you have an unproblematic fave. This person doesn't usually get involved in beefs, and isn't known for making much controversy.

Cindy: What is celebrity's position on abortion? Pro-choice or pro-life?
Jim: he/she has never talked about it, and I doubt he/she ever will
